This unique, self-defense firearm contains all 1911 controls including a full size grip safety, the LS measures a slim 0.765 inches wide across the steel and 1.065 inches wide across the wood grips.  Aided by an undercut trigger guard and front strap STIppling, the LS transfers most of the recoil to the heel of your hand – resulting in very little muzzle rise.  Incorporated in this firearm are the STI-designed linkless barrel lockup system, STI's patented trigger assembly, and all 1911-style trigger group parts (excluding the mainspring, mainspring housing, and grip panels).  Weighing less than 28 ounces, both the LS9 and LS40 sport a 3.4-inch barrel and an abbreviated grip for easy carry and concealment.
